Join the re-launch of 2020 Vision for Water and Sanitation
All schools are invited to the re-launch of the 2020 Vision for Water and Sanitation Programme
POLOKWANE – The provincial Department of Water and Sanitation in partnership with the provincial Department of Education invites all district management and two representatives from schools in the province to the re-launch of 2020 Vision for Water and Sanitation Programme.
The re-launch will be on 12 February at the Nirvana Hall.
The objectives of these programmes are:
• To educate learners about integrated water resource management.
• Promoting water use efficiency.
• Promote good health and hygiene.
• To address the skills shortage in the scientific and engineering disciplines within the water sector at grass roots level.
• Encourage learners to take an active role in managing the environment around their schools, communities and the country as a whole.
The programme includes sub-projects like: Baswa le Meetse (BLM) specifically for primary schools, South African Youth Water Prize (SAYWP) for secondary schools, Aqua Enduro (AE), Eco Schools (ES) and Public Speaking Competitions.
