Power cut at water plant to affect city’s water supply

The Polokwane Municipality notifies residents of an interruption of water supply today from the Ebenezer plant due to a power cut that is expected to affect the plant

POLOKWANE – According to Lepelle Northern Water, the plant will be out of operation between 09:00 and 14:00.

“The municipality and Lepelle Northern Water will do all in its power to ensure minimisation of the negative effects on supply. However, the public is advised to use water very sparingly by limiting usage to domestic use only. This will ensure the reservoir levels do not drop significantly resulting in water shortage,” said municipal spokesperson, Matshidiso Mothapo.

“The public is warned not to use the limited available supply for watering gardens, washing cars or any other thing except for household use. Residents, businesses and visitors to the city are encouraged to use water sparingly at all times. Water conservation is a collective responsibility.”

Mothapo said residents were encouraged to report water related issues to the municipality at (015 2902376/2001/2002.
