LIMPOPO – 6 of the 11 suspects arrested in connection with the murder of the 57-year-old warrant officer over the weekend appeared in the Sekhukhune Magistrate’s Court on Monday, say Limpopo police.
WO Boshego Joel Seloga was shot and killed while trying to apprehend a suspect during a funeral in Madibong village in Jane Furse on Saturday.
“During the arrest members of the community rushed to his suspects assistance as they mistook the police members for criminals.The community members chased the deceased and cornered him. His official service pistol was forcefully taken from him and he was shot in the head and died on the scene,” said provincial police spokesperson, Col Ronel Otto in an earlier report.
The six suspects Thomas Nunu Makanyane (31), Simon Monakedi (35), Petrus Dithame Makanyane (34), Maphoto Aron Makanyane (44), Alfred Makanyane (21) and Emily Maphotuke Mamaile (40) will appear in court again on the 4 February 2016.
“Only six of the 11 arrested on Saturday and Sunday could so far be positively linked to the murder, the rest may become witnesses.”
Investigations continue concluded Otto.
