The police appeal to residents to help find this man who might have information on the rape of a 60-year-old woman in Eduan Park last week.

POLOKWANE – The police appeal to residents to help find this man who might have information on the rape of a 60-year-old woman in Eduan Park that occurred between Tuesday late evening and the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The woman is deaf mute and lives alone.

Capt Ntobeng Phala, a Polokwane police spokesperson, said the intruder entered the woman’s home at about 22:00 and demanded money.

“The woman only had two R10 notes and the man got aggressive. He dragged her into the bedroom, where he wrestled her to the bed, tied her hands and raped her. The suspect fled the scene in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The woman’s daughter found her and called the police,” Phala said.

According to Phala the woman reported that the man told her through sign language that he will be back.

“Last year between September and October here was a house break-in at the very same address. The incident happened between 07:00 and 09:00. The suspect has not been arrested yet,” Phala said.

Anyone with information that can help the police can contact WO Donald Maleka at 072 306 2817.
