After the suspension of Limpopo Hawks Head, Dibero Molatjana last year on charges of fraud and misuse of state resources, Thobeka Jozi was recently appointed to manage the Hawks in Limpopo.
According to Hawks Spokesperson Hangwani Mulaudzi higher operational standards are expected from the unit at provincial level following the appointment of new heads in seven of the nine provinces.
“With Mpumalanga, Free State and North West headed by women, Limpopo becomes the fourth province to have a woman entrusted with keeping criminals at bay. Jozi’s two law degrees and 14 years experience in the policing environment will come in handy in ridding Limpopo of all serious organised crime, corruption and fraud,” Mulaudzi said.
Jabulani Zikhali (KwaZulu-Natal), Ntombizodwa Mokoena (Mpumalanga), Linda Mbana (North West), Nyameko Nogwanya (Eastern Cape), Kholekile Galawe (Northern Cape) and Liziwe Ntshinga (Free State) have been appointed in the respective provinces.
Provincial Police Spokesperson Ronel Otto said Jozi was more than willing to be interviewed but needed some time to settle in as was already running a busy diary.
