POLOKWANE – Police are on the lookout for five suspects, one of whom is armed, in connection with a house robbery that occurred on Monday night.
The suspects followed a woman, after closing her business, to her house in Munnik Avenue, Ster Park.
At around 19:00 she was confronted by the five suspects at her gate and hit on the head by a blunt object.
Police spokesperson, Ntobeng Phala, said the woman was then forced inside her home where there was a childminder waiting with her child.
The men proceeded to ransack the home.
“The men took a large, undisclosed amount of money,” Phala said.
The men got away with jewellery, televisions, cell phones and other valuables valued at around R50 000.
Phala said the police are still searching for the suspects who were seen fleeing off in a white Range Rover.
“If anyone has any information regarding this crime, they can contact the police station,” Phala concluded.
