4 EFF senior members return to ANC

"The split of ANC members to form the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) and Congress of the People (Cope) caused huge damage in the ruling party."

POLOKWANE – “The split of ANC members to form the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) and Congress of the People (Cope) caused huge damage in the ruling party.”

This was the utterance of ANC Limpopo Secretary, Nocks Seabi when he welcomed four senior EFF members back to the ANC on Wednesday.

“We welcome former EFF Provincial Organiser, David Manamela, Colly Magoa (former Nationa poet), Godfrey Munyai (former Deputy Secretary in the Vhembe Region) and Vele Mbedzi (EFF organizer in the Vhembe District) back to the ANC. The four were leading figures of the infant and confused political formation called the EFF. We welcome into our ranks a sizeable number of political activists from the history-less and futureless political formation,” he said.

“They come back with a sizeable number of about 5000 members,” he added.

Seabi said they also welcomed back 13 councillors from the Mogalakwena Municipality, who were “expelled from the ANC for transgression of organisational policies and discipline during the much published municipality debacle”.

“We will take them through a rigorous political education programme,” he said.

Manamela said they left the EFF due to Julius Malema’s dictatorship.

“He (Malema) does not respect the people. The only person he respects in this world is his own grandmother,” said Manamela.

“We worked hard in the EFF, we love the EFF, but Malema derailed it. He turned the party into his own private property. He looted money to pay his own debts. If you inquire about finance, you will be expelled. We never thought the EFF will turn into someone’s private property obsessed to fight President Jacob Zuma,” he said.

“Another thing that exasperated us is that we started with the EFF when things were difficult, and later when we were preparing a list of members of parliament, we saw Jossey Buthane join the party and parachuted to the legislature.”

EFF Limpopo Secretary, Jossey Buthane said the four senior officials claiming to be EFF members left the party about a year ago.

“They left and joined Andile Mngxitama’s fly-by-night organisation. What we can confirm is that Julius Malema is a good and democratic leader,” said Buthane.
