Planned maintenance may result in no water, low pressure

POLOKWANE -Lepelle Northern Water has hereby given notice of planned maintenance work to be done at the Ebenezer Plant this weekend.

It is expected that the work will resume from 05:00 and continue for most part of Sunday, 17 January 2016 says municpal spokesperson, Tidimalo Chune on Wednesday.

“Some parts of the city might experience shortage or low pressure during this period.”

Maintenance work involves repairs of some parts of the electrical supply system to the plant by Tzaneen municipality.  The plant will start operating as soon as repairs are finalised.

Chuene warns residents that it will take time for reservoirs to fill up enough  for water normal supply to resume in all affected areas.

“It is very important for residents to limit water usage to immediate household needs during this period to allow reservoirs to fill up, thus avoiding water shortage to high lying areas.”

High lying areas that may be affected include:

Flora Park, Bendor, Nirvana, Ster Park, Thornhill, Ivy dale and Ivy Park, Ga-Maja, Ga-Chuene area and all the high catchment areas in Seshego.

Water tankers will be deployed to move around the affected areas.
Municipal water treatment plants at Dalmada along the R71 to Mankweng and Seshego, Zone 4 will remain open for consumers with means of transport to get water from 06:00 -22:00 daily.

Polokwane Municipality apologises for any inconvenience that may be caused as a result of this exercise.
