Man (26) swept away by flood waters

LIMPOPO – A 26-year-old man was swept away by flood waters when the vehicle he was travelling in was swept of the road at Boyne near Mankweng on Monday.

The body of the deceased was recovered by members of search and rescue police unit on Wednesday afternoon after a two day search said provincial police spokesperson, Col Ronel Otto on Thursday.

“During heavy rains on Monday evening a vehicle was swept off the road at Boyne near Mankweng. The driver of the vehicle managed to escape but his passenger the deceased was swept away by the flood water explained Otto.

“His body was recovered approximately 3km from where the scene,” concludes Otto.
