Water supply possibly restored by Thursday – Muni

The Olifantspoort Plant which Lepelle Northern Water (LNW) switched off this morning, is now fully operational confirms a municipal spokesperson, Tidimalo Cheune on Wednesday afternoon.

POLOKWANE – The Olifantspoort Plant which Lepelle Northern Water (LNW) switched off this morning, is now fully operational confirms a municipal spokesperson, Tidimalo Cheune on Wednesday afternoon.

“Water supply is expected to be restored by Thursday.”

“The LNW shut off the plant as a result of the abnormal high turbidity levels of the raw water that was caused by recent rainfall explained Chuene.

“This resulted in the reservoir levels running low, leading to low pressure or now water in some areas in and around the city.

The areas affected include:

Ga-Maja, Ga-Chuene area, high catchment areas in Seshego, Flora Park, Bendor, Nirvana, Ster Park, Thornhill, Ivy dale and Ivy Park

Water tankers are being deployed to move around the affected areas and  water treatment plants at Dalmada along the R71 to Mankweng and Seshego- Zone 4 are open for consumers from 06:00 -22:00 daily.
