3 in custody for Haenertsburg murder

Three suspects were arrested at Mshongoville village at Mentz Mankweng in connection with the murder of Rina Langenhoven, the resort manager at the farm Silver Mist.

LIMPOPO – Three suspects aged 45, 35 and 32 were arrested at Mshongoville village at Mentz Mankweng in connection with the murder of 67-year-old resort manager at the farm Silver Mist over the weekend.

The suspects were arrested on Tuesday morning after detectives tracked down the stolen vehicle taken during the incident says provincial police spokesperson, Col Ronel Otto

As earlier reported Rina Langenhoven’s body was discovered under a mattress in one of the rooms by the domestic worker when she reported for duty on Monday morning.

“Her hands were tied behind her back and her mouth bound, both with packaging tape.”

“One of the suspects is a previous employee on the farm,” says Otto.

Items taken from the house during the incident which include a laptop, radio, television and cell phones were found in their possession during the arrest.

They are due to appear in the Polokwane Magistrates’ Court on Thursday on charges of murder and house robbery concludes Otto.

 

The Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Limpopo, Lt Genl Fannie Masemola congratulated the team of detectives and intelligence members from Haenertsburg and Mankweng on the swift arrests. He applauded their dedication and good   detective work in bringing the suspects to book so soon after the incident.
