POLOKWANE – Highly acclaimed motivational speaker, Billy Selekane gave the guests at the Hangout Network session some food for thought when he told them to stop procrastinating and to rather embrace life.
“Each one of us has a beautiful story to tell, it is either going to be something that is celebrated or it is never going to be heard. Take control of your own life, do not wait for someone to hand you opportunities, make your own,” were a few of the motivational thoughts he shared with guests.
Selekane was only one of the gems that made up the crown of speakers who motivated guests at Sun Meropa’s Jembe Tavern on Tuesday, 1 December.
Simphiwe Mdlalose, Thapelo Matlala and Dora Phala were also among the motivational speakers.
The Hangout Network is the brainchild of author, entrepreneur and motivational speaker, Kholofelo Pholafudi. His aim is to awaken the spirit of entrepreneurship and thus help combat the high levels of unemployment in our country.
What sets this session apart is the fact that part of the proceeds will go to a family in Ga-Matlala. They lost both their parents and their house burned down recently. Pholafudi decided to assist this child-headed household and came up with the Hangout Network as a result.
So far, Pholafudi and his team managed to raise around R 24 000 for the orphans. They have also bought school uniforms for the children and paid their tuition fees for next year. The end goal is to build them another house and Pholafudi is hopeful this will be achieved soon
“I truly think the Hangout Network went well, it’s just amazing how many doors open when you reach out to people with a smile and a friendly attitude,” said Pholafudi.
Guests were also very impressed with the event and many of them greatly anticipate the upcoming session on 28 January 2016.
