queen of the northWhile time is running out for those still planning on entering the Queen of the North competition that closes tomorrow (Friday), SMS votes for the Public Choice Awards are streaming in with voting open until 08:00 on Saturday.
The competition will culminate on Saturday with the crowning of the winners. The final event will be hosted in a marquee tent specially set up for the occasion in the Mall of the North parking area nearest to the restaurant entrance.
Katryn Barwise, organiser of the pageant, said apart from the Queen of the North title a whole lot of other titles stand to be won such as Miss Photogenic, Miss Personality and the public choice award winners.
The pageant for the juniors, age category 1 to 12 years old, will start at 10:00 and the pageant for the seniors, 13 to 24 years old, at 18:00.
Three winners will be announced in each of six categories: 1-3 years, 4-6 years, 7-9 years, 10-12 years, 13-15 years and 16-24 years. Six winners in the public choice category will also be announced.
Barwise reminded entrants that a free modelling workshop will be hosted by Limpopo Beauty Modelling Academy before pageant day in the marquee tent and that many prizes stand to be won.

Tickets will be sold at the venue and cost R50 for adults and children 12 years and older. Children younger than 12 may enter free of charge.
