Students that apply for admission at Boston City Campus & Business College Polo-kwane will get a response to their applications within two working days. This is the undertaking from the college as it gears up for its 2016 registration campaign.
“We have simplified our processes to such an extent that we can give students an answer within a very reasonable time,” says Kerry Damons, Marketing head of Boston.
Prospective students have a choice between online and walk-in applications. “Both options are straight forward,” says Damons. She points out that students are welcome to decide on the method that is most convenient for them, but they must bear in mind that certain documents are required no matter which option they choose.
“If a certified copy of the ID document is asked, then you need to supply a certified copy of your ID document.  You can go to the nearest police station or someone that you know is a commissioner of oaths and have the copy certified. Don’t supply a copy of your driver’s licence or baptism certificate as it will not be accepted.
“Before you start filling in an application form, please make sure you have at hand all the information you need. If you stop halfway during an online application, you will have to start all over again. You cannot save the form with only part of the information completed and come back later to complete it.”
To avoid frustration, it is best to take note of all course and documentation requirements before applying. “Please read the requirements and check whether you are eligible. Do not waste your time by applying for a course for which you do not qualify,” Damons adds. “Also, do not apply for a course if the closing date for applications has passed.”
Whether you apply online or in person at the Boston campus nearest to you, there is no cost involved in the application process. An application merely means that your details will be assessed, and that someone will let you know if you have been admitted to the course. “There is a difference between application and registration. A registration means that you commit to a course and to the terms and conditions, and you pay a deposit or the full amount towards the course,” says Damons.
It is ideal to speak with a career advisor before making a commitment. Boston offers career advice free of charge to ensure that students enrol for courses that are best suited to them, considering their individual academic results, personality and future aspirations. “Do it online or walk in, but whatever you do apply and register in time to make sure you can realise your dream of studying in 2016,” Damons reiterates.
