Suspects kidnap infant (1) after giving mother lift

The Mokopane police appeal to the community to assist in the search of a one-year-old baby boy that was kidnapped on Saturday morning near Mokopane.

LIMPOPO – The Mokopane police appeal to the community to assist in the search of a one-year-old baby boy that was kidnapped on Saturday morning near Mokopane.

George Sethosa (1) was kidnapped on Saturday morning by three suspects after giving his mother Joyce Sethosa (44) a lift to Mokopane from Teberius Village.

According to Const Irene Masingi, spokesperson for the Mokopane Police Station, Sethosa said she got a lift from the three suspects driving a red VW Citi Golf from Teberius Village to Mokopae at around 10:00 in the morning. “The arrangement was that they would drop her and her baby off at a fast food eatery in Thabo Mbeki Drive in Mokopane, but they kept on driving and stopped at Hakdoring on the R101 towards Mookgophong. They threatened her with a firearm and drove away with her son. Sethosa alleges she was drugged and only gained consciousness the following morning and contacted her brothers for help.”

“Anyone with information that can assist in returning George Sethosa (1) to his mother and lead to the arrests of the suspects should contact their nearest police station.”
