Thohoyandou cop killer says no to bail

One of the three suspects who was arrested in connection with the recent murder of WO Thomas Mabada told the Vuwani Magistrate's Court that he would not apply for bail

LIMPOPO – One of the three suspects who was arrested in connection with the recent murder of WO Thomas Mabada told the Vuwani Magistrate’s Court last Friday that he would not apply for bail.

The suspect was arrested in a joint operation between the Seshego Crime Intelligence Unit, Thohoyandou Technical Response Team (Amaberete) and detectives from Mogwadi police station. Two other suspects were also arrested.

According to Provincial Police Commissioner, Lt Genl Fannie Masemola two of the arrested suspects were allegedly involved in the robbery of a female police constable’s home where they demanded a firearm, but could not find one.

They left with her motor vehicle, laptops and cell phones. No one was harmed.

Spokesperson for the Vuwani police, Const Thomas Thovhakale said only the other two suspects would apply for bail on 14 January. “The three suspects have been remanded in custody,” he added.
