Emergency maintenance on pipeline will affect water supply

The shutdown will disrupt supply of water to the following areas:

POLOKWANE -According to notice issued by Lepelle Northern Water (LNW); “emergency maintenance on the supply line to Polokwane at Thokgoaneng will affect the water supply in the city and surrounding areas.”

“A serious leakage has been identified and must be repaired, to minimise water loss.”

The water line was shut off for immediate repairs at 10:00 and is expected to be completed by around 16:00 explains a municipal spokesperson, Tidimalo Chuene.

“Unfortunately this will have negative affect towards supply of water in the city and surrounding areas.”

The shutdown will disrupt supply of water to the following areas:

Penina Park, Ivy Park Extension, Flora Park; Nirvana, Meropa, Seshego, Madiba Park and Legae La Batho. High catchment areas will also be affected.

The public is requested to use water very sparingly during this period to ensure that reservoir levels do not drop significantly resulting in more areas without supply.

The reservoir levels are currently very low and washing of cars using hoses, watering of lawns and gardens should strictly be avoided concludes Chuene.

Residents experiencing challenges with water supply are advised to report to the municipality on 0152902376/2001/2002 for assistance.
