LIMPOPO – To develop society to become self-sufficient, independent and caring, Prof Alfred Nevhutanda has established the Professor Alfred Nevhutanda Development Foundation.
“We want to give back to the community through empowerment initiatives,” says the patron of the foundation, Prof Alfred Nevhutanda.
The foundation focuses on education, sport, arts, culture, economic and rural development, and business and leadership development.
“In education, we will develop governance, classroom practise and provision of resources. The foundation will do teacher training in critical subjects, sound classroom management skills, better understanding of the curriculum, increase subject knowledge and learner assessment,” says Nevhutanda.
“In sport, we will sponsor township or village tournaments, supply sports kits, give general sponsorship in cash, and organisation of golf games and sports clinics,” he says.
“In arts, we will promote choral music, sponsor establishment of community-based orchestras, and promote traditional music and dance. In business and leadership development, the foundation will empower seminars, support community-based activities, mentorship programmes and have a special focus on women and youth.
