POLOKWANE – Northern Media Group held a media and advertising event for various businesses in the city on Friday.
The event aimed to highlight how technology changed the business world. Guests were also treated to a tour of Review, Capricorn Voice, Polokwane Express and Bosvelder’s printing press.
Local economist, Glen Steyn, who was the guest speaker, gave a forecast of South Africa, Limpopo and Polokwane’s economies.
“Businesses should not put too much faith in such predictions. The economy can be unpredictable due to various factors worldwide, which can influence the local economy to either grow or stagnate,” said Steyn.
He emphasised the importance of technology in today’s business market with the likes of social media platforms and the internet.
“This has become one of the fasted norms to put your business on the map. These platforms should be used as they can be very beneficial for a business. The internet, smartphones, apps, mobile apps and broadband internet have become the playing field to do business today,” he said.
Pieter Meiring, Northern Media Group marketing manager, further emphasised the importance of digital media and the importance and advances of advertising on these platforms.
