ANC, Polokwane council at loggerheads

The ANC and the Polokwane Municipality council have clashed over a candidate to replace Ndavhe Ramakuela as municipal manager, reported The Citizen

POLOKWANE  – The ANC and the Polokwane Municipality council have clashed over a candidate to replace Ndavhe Ramakuela as municipal manager, reported The Citizen.

This after the ANC provincial executive committee ordered the Polokwane mayor, Thembi Nkadimeng to stop the appointment of the municipal manager this week.

Municipal spokesperson Tidimalo Chuene would not comment on whether the ANC and the council were at loggerheads.

“I can, however, state on record that Polokwane municipal council declared the position of the municipal manager vacant,” said Chuene. “The post was subsequently advertised with the closing date for applications being August 27, 2015.”

ANC provincial spokesperson, Aluwani Netsianda, denied claims that there was tension between the ANC and the Polokwane council.

“The leadership of the ANC has a healthy relationship with the Polokwane municipality,” said Netsianda.

“We are not aware of any tension.”
