Police stop would-be robbers in their tracks

The police arrested eight suspects yesterday, who were allegedly on their way to commit armed robbery at a well-known lodge in Zebediela

LIMPOPO – The police arrested eight suspects yesterday, who were allegedly on their way to commit armed robbery at a well-known lodge in Zebediela.

According to provincial police spokesperson, Col Ronel Otto, the suspects were spotted on the road to the lodge in three vehicles and were stopped and apprehended.

“Two firearms, a shotgun and 9mm pistol were confiscated, as well as the three vehicles. Investigations to link the suspects to other crimes in the area are ongoing,” said Otto.

She added that the suspects would appear in the Mokopane magistrate’s court tomorrow.
