The who’s who of the city’s business community gathered at the Pietersburg Club last Thursday to celebrate the opening of the first Uniclox branch in Polokwane.
Uniclox Technologies also celebrates its 70th birthday this year and national Marketing Manager Derek Udemans gave a presentation on the history and scope of the company. He said Uniclox Technologies has evolved from a company supplying and installing clocks, to a solutions-driven technology business.
“Many of our large clocks can still be seen on buildings in and around Johannesburg, for example on the SAB Building in the city centre, the Wanderers Cricket Club, and the Oriental Plaza Tower.”
This company focuses on resource, building, access control and time management and their products include automated clocking systems for time and attendance, biometric identification terminals working with fingerprint, hand and facial geometry, and the well known card access systems that many companies use.
Uniclox’ products are more than just access control systems and it can be integrated into a company’s human resource systems to reduce errors or fraud, cut payroll preparation time and improve payroll accuracy.
Management reports generated by Uniclox Vision Software give managers access to accurate, unbiased productivity information for analysis and decision support Uniclox Technologies also specialises in building management, including keeping tabs on the use of materials, staff movements, and maintenance schedules. An integrated system will ensure employees are restricted where necessary, that set jobs are completed at the right time and place, and cost of materials are carefully controlled.
In a lighter moment, Udemans shared the story of a mining company that had to deal with huge amounts of toilet paper theft. “They installed a biometric solution and now the toilet paper dispensary works with fingerprint recognition. The company saves thousands of rand every month,” he said.
Owner and Managing Director of Uniclox Technologies, Sophia Hislop, introduced the new Uniclox Polokwane team. They are Sales and Branch Manager Bruce Schuurman, Branch Administrator Sulani Gouws, and Technical Support Manager Albertus Kriel.
