Entries for one of Limpopo’s biggest beauty pageants, Queen of the North, are rolling in and the organiser, Katryn Barwise says everyone who is still considering their entry, should hurry and submit. Barwise, also the reigning Miss Humanity 2015, indicated that the final adjudication and pageant is scheduled for 28 November at Mall of the North with the final cut-off date for entries on 27 November.
Big prizes can be won this year. All entries received before 9 November will stand a chance to be voted the winner of the Public Choice Awards, an extra prize category. Entrants’ photos will be published in the Polokwane Observer of 12 November 2015. The public will then, via an SMS competition, vote for their favourite entrant. Entries can be made in six age categories: 1-4, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12, 13-15 and 16-24 years and the category winners will each receive a sash and ten extra points towards their pageant score, thus bringing them a step closer to the title.
“This pageant is officially one of the biggest pageants in Limpopo with more than 100 entries received each year. Now in its third year and with the addition of the Public Choice Awards I believe that there will be many more entries than previously,” Barwise commented.
