Emerging entrepreneurs took the opportunity to be empowered by individuals that have excelled in their respective fields during a networking session that was hosted by The Hangout Network in association with PricewaterhouseCoopers and AFR8 at Meropa Casino & Entertainment World last Thursday.
According to Kholofelo Pholafudi, organiser of the event, it was aimed at creating a strategic platform for entrepreneurs and professionals to engage on matters of common interest in a relaxed and social environment. “This platform provides the opportunity for entrepreneurs to engage with one another whilst at the same time getting empowered by individuals that have achieved or topped ranks in their different fields of operations. This initiative is done in line with the Government’s call for advancement of encouraging youth into participating in the main stream of the economy and the Smart City of Polokwane Initiative,” Pholafudi said.
Speakers at the event were Eric Mabasa (Your past is not equal to the future), Kwenisto Makgakga (How to make it with all odds against you), Sir BM Nigel (How to Think Big Or Die Small) and Pholafudi (The importance of building a great network around you).
After the event, one attendee remarked that “I have learnt not to let my past keep me back from achieving my goals” and another added “The cost of attending the event was an understatement given what I’ve learnt.”
