Heatwave affects water situation in city

Heatwave cause of critical reservoir levels, which result in water shortages in some parts of the city.

POLOKWANE – The reservoirs that supply water to the city are critically low and some parts of the city may be without water.

High lying areas like Bendor, Flora Park, Serala View, and Ster Park are some of the areas that could be affected.

Matshidiso Mothapo, a municipal spokesperson, said the current heat wave in the city has a major impact on the reservoir levels.

Mothapo advise residents who are having water shortages due to the low reservoir levels, to report it to the municipality at (015) 290 2376/2001/ 2002.

“Once reported the municipality will send water tankers to supply residents with water until the reservoir levels are stable,” Mothapo said.
