Funded programme to train new tax practitioners

Do you want to become a tax practitioner? Apply for a funded educational programme presented by Continuing Education at the University of Pretoria (CE at UP) and Oxbridge Training Institute.
The tax landscape has changed significantly in the past few years and taxation has grown into an independent and complex discipline. Tax professionals have to be trained specifically to meet the demands of the different role players in the discipline.
The Tax Administration Act, 2011 (Act No. 28 of 2011), implemented on 1 October 2012, indicated that whoever provides advice to another person with respect to the application of tax; or completes or assists in completing a document to be submitted to the South African revenue Service (Sars) by another person in terms of the Tax Act, must register with Sars as a tax practitioner.
Professional body membership is highly valued in the financial services sector. The South African Institute for Tax Professionals (Sait), the largest professional tax body in South Africa, seeks to enhance the tax profession by developing standards in education, compliance, monitoring and performance. For most employers, professional body designations reflect skills levels, as well as levels of professionalism.
There is now a learning opportunity for people working in a financial environment to become tax practitioners and professional members of the Sait.
The Intela Training Programme is a Fasset funded programme. The programme is presented by CE at UP and Oxbridge Training Institute. It is offered on Saturdays and after hours.
All programme costs are carried by the Seta for Finance, Accounting, Management Consulting and other Financial Services.
