“The deceased are pilot David Boul and passenger Ronald Matsunga,” says provincial police spokesperson, Col Ronel Otto.
The third passenger, Phineas Sekwela, was injured when he hit the electric cables. “He either jumped or fell out of the helicopter before it crashed.”
Sekwela was transferred to the Helen Frans Hospital. His condition is still unknown says Otto.
According to previous information, the private helicopter belonging to the company, Henli Air, Jhb Rand Airport, crashed into a pole while installing antennas in the Blouberg mountains.
The accident was due to technical difficulties, but an investigation will be conducted by the Civil Aviation Authority, concludes Otto.
