VIDEO: Fundraiser for Louis, with love from Ruben
Learners from Laerskool Pietersburg-Noord recently came together for a good cause to assist a gr. 7 learner to make a difference in the life of a friend with a childhood cancer awareness march.
POLOKWANE – Learners from Laerskool Pietersburg-Noord recently came together for a good cause to assist a gr. 7 learner to make a difference in the life of a friend with a childhood cancer awareness march.
Ruben Adlem asked one of the teachers to assist him in a project, where he would raise funds for his friend, Louis Ungerer who is currently fighting cancer. Louis was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia late last year and is currently undergoing treatment.
The learners paid R10 each to wear a yellow T-shirt and had their hair painted yellow. Ruben also sold yellow ribbons.
Proceeds of the march were donated to Louis’ family.
Ruben said the project was close to his heart and the reaction and participation from the learners showed him that people still cared about others.
