Parenting is not perfection, it is a connection says Nikkie Bush

POLOKWANE – Nikki Bush, motivational speaker, best selling author and parenting expert was in Polokwane last week to host a Parenting on the Run workshop at Mitchell House.

The workshop aimed to help parents respond creatively to everyday occurrences.

The interactive workshop presented practical strategies for parents who Nikki said are: “long on love but short on life”.

The workshop taught parents how to connect with their children wherever they are and that no matter the time spent with them, they can still make memories.

According to Nikki, parenting is all about in-between moments, moments which cannot be photographed.

“Parenting is not perfection, it is a connection,” said Nikki as she had parents play different games to show them they can make fun out of nothing.

“It is the smaller things in life which makes the difference – this is all children require.”

“Quality time on the run is possible as you connect with your children by teaching them at the same time,” added Nikki.

On being a good parent, Nikki said it is someone who is visible enough in their children’s lives. “They consciously make a choice to connect.”
