‘My father did not raise a coward’
Following the attack at Noordskool last week, the DA has instigated charges against the chairperson of the Luthuli Park Combined School SGB, Clifford Mohloana
POLOKWANE – Following the attack at Noordskool last week, the DA has pressed charges against the chairperson of the Luthuli Park Combined School SGB, Clifford Mohloana.
On the day of the attack, a bus full of learners, as well as adults arrived in a bus marked in the signage of Luthuli Park Combined School and stormed into the school yard.
According to the Noordskool principal, the group ran through the administration offices and school and toyi-toyi’ed, throwing chairs all over. Eight learners were attacked
Following the DA’s “threats” to press charges against him, Mohloana posted photos on Facebook yesterday in which he is seen at the Polokwane police station.
One of the photos is captioned “unshaken”, while the other is captioned “my father did not raise a coward”, and in the comments section of one of his posts, he says:
“Custodians of white privilege led by Jack Smalle, threatened to lay charges against me on behalf of the poor. I’m still waiting.”
“The DA is not surprised by the ANC-supported Mohloana’s behaviour, after he together with a group of ANC-branded SGB members disrupted my oversight visit to the school last week and completely disregarded MEC Kgetjepe when he attempted to intervene telephonically,” said the DA in a statement.
“We trust that the provincial SAPS will treat the criminal charge laid with the seriousness it warrants. This will inevitably send out the signal that violence would not be tolerated at schools especially when vulnerable learners and communities are led astray to drive individual ANC –driven political agendas.”
