LITTLE PINK FEET: Greatest blessing for 2nd time

POLOKWANE – It is said that having a child is one of the greatest blessings in life.

For Lizanè and Hein Diedericks, their second blessing came in the form of Zané. Arriving three weeks early and weighing 3,4kg, Zané was born on 13 February to two joyful and elated parents.

Having gone through pregnancy before, Lizanè was not caught off guard when she realised she was pregnant and she had a happy and healthy pregnancy, just like her first one. Lizanè says she loves being pregnant. “I love the feeling of movement inside me when I’m pregnant, it gives me a sense of closeness,” she says.

Just like any other pregnancy, she went through all the normal things that a pregnant woman would go through. Weird cravings and challenges that come with having a growing baby inside of you. Lizanè says she craved milk during her pregnancy and that included anything with milk in it, be it ice cream or milkshakes and she says she could not stand the smell of bacon and eggs. One of her challenges was the fact that she had a toddler and that restricted her in certain aspects. Weight gain was also another challenge she faced. Exercising has become a beneficial aspect in pregnancy and Lizanè says she did a lot of walking.

Support is always important when pregnant and she thanks her husband for being there for her throughout her pregnancy as well as her mother. Being a mother is an awesome experience says Lizanè. “I love being a mom, I can’t imagine life without them.” Milandi (2 years old) has been accepting of her younger sister and her mom says she kisses her baby sister all the time.

Lizanè says that she would love to have more children and even though they have changed her life dramatically, it has been changed in a good way and she loves her children more than anything in the world.
