Students to benefit from UL, Ivanhoe agreement

Ivanhoe Mines Limited, the University of Limpopo and Laurentian University in Canada have signed an agreement to officially launch an educational collaboration between the two universities

POLOKWANE – Ivanhoe Mines Limited, the University of Limpopo (UL) and Laurentian University in Canada have signed an agreement to officially launch an educational collaboration between the two universities.

The agreement was signed at the University of Limpopo yesterday.

The agreement, which is a five-year partnership, which is renewable for a further five years, is to develop and equip the University of Limpopo’s geology department to become a centre of excellence in geosciences.

Ivanplats also will provide in-service training opportunities for students from both universities and assist them in conducting research on the Northern Limb of the Bushveld Complex.
