POLOKWANE – A 36-year-old man is in a Polokwane hospital after allegedly  attempting to commit suicide after murdering his sons on Saturday evening.

“It is alleged that the suspect  from Moletlane-Mmatjatji and his wife (who was staying at her grandmothers house in Gauteng at the time) were not in good terms.”

“He collected the children on Friday and went to Gauteng to visit his wife,” explained provincial police spokesperson, Col Ronel Otto.

It is alleged that when they returned home to the village of Magatle he killed the 4 children, all boys.

“He allegedly cut all four boys throats with a knife and afterwards attempted to commit suicide.”

“He was transferred to hospital and is in a stable condition,” said Otto.

As and when he is discharged he will appear before court on four murder charges.
