LIMPOPO – The Greater Tubatse Chamber in Burgersfort invites the community to part of the Chamber of Commerce.

“We would like to invite the community to be part of the Chamber of Commerce. We are constantly criticising the state of our town, but no results can be obtained unless we respond to the challenges. The Greater Tubatse Chamber is still too small to tackle all the problems that arise, this is why we are asking the community to be part of the chamber in order to grow to the point where it enables us to implement change and see results,” Carl Lourens, current Chairperson of the Chamber of Commerce said.

Chamber was established in 2014

The Greater Tubatse Chamber in Burgersfort was established in December 2014 with the intention to create and promote local businesses and facilitate economic growth and effective cooperation with the local municipality -in cooperation with African Trade Institute.

“If a problem arises we can address it together, meetings can be held, speakers can be acquired and solutions can be implemented. Jane Furse is still trying to establish a business forum and up until the finalisation of that we invite community members to join the Greater Tubatse Chamber,” he continued.

The Greater Tubatse Chamber has compiled an electronic address list which Lourens uses to notify the community about meetings.

“At the first annual general meeting only 30 community members arrived. No solutions can be successfully implemented until the community gets involved,” he stressed.

Owners of businesses and community members who wish to join the chamber can e-mail Lourens at magabe@lantic.net.

The next board meeting will take place on 8 September at Laerskool Burgersfort’s hall at 18:00.

Anyone is welcome to attend the meeting.
