For George Malan, the best part of his job is to offer strategic consultations to owner managed businesses, helping these businesses who form the back bone of economic development in Limpopo the best opportunity to succeed.
This qualified CA and partner at Veritas Incorporated has more than 33 years’ experience in rendering professional services to clients ranging from large national corporations to medium and small sized entities.
He specialises in auditing, accounting, trusts and estates and is also a registered tax practitioner.
Malan, a Pretoria University alumnus, has been a resident of Polokwane for the past 21 years. He is very involved in community matters and serves on the School Governing Board of Hoërskool Pietersburg.
As qualified field hockey umpire, Malan makes use of this sport to develop young people. He also mentors learners and often speaks at schools about the finance profession.
Malan is a family man who loves to spend time with his wife, Hilde, and two children. He is very proud of Ané, who is busy with post graduate studies in visual communication, and Pierre Jacques, who is a first year student in clinical technology.
An avid cyclist, Malan has completed 14 consecutive Argus Cape Town Cycle Tours, speaking to his true grit, determination and perseverance.
The jovial Malan says he loves to travel, because he loves to learn about new people and cultures. “We all have a story to tell. I want to hear people’s stories,” he says.
He gives full credit to his staff, saying he cannot thank the Veritas team enough for the hard work and dedication they have put into the company. He is an optimist and sees something positive in every situation.
“My dream is that Veritas will make a difference in people’s lives.”
