POLOKWANE – The First Lady Trust in partnership with Cell C hosted a Women’s Month celebration at the Polokwane Correctional Service on Friday, where more than 50 offenders were celebrated as women.

“Women are precious creations of God and have great potential in life even if they have fallen and are temporarily taken out of society,” said the first lady, Margaret Mathabatha, who also advised the offenders not go back to their old ways when they are released from jail.

Joshua Moela, Managing Executive: Government Relations at Cell C, said in the partnership with the trust, the company was willing to assist where they possibly could.

“We want to remind these woman that they are still appreciated and must be ready to face the world once they are released,” says Moela.

Speaking on behalf of the offenders, Mpho Ramapela, thanked all the people who thought of them during Women’s Month.
