SPCA awaits verdict on abandoned puppy

The Jack Russel terrier-cross puppy that was recently left in a car by it's owner is still in the care of the SPCA Polokwane

POLOKWANE – The Jack Russel terrier-cross puppy that was recently left in a car by it’s owner is still in the care of the SPCA Polokwane.

According to Moloko Manaka, an inspector at SPCA Polokwane, they have opened a case and are now waiting for a decision from the court prosecutor.

“Unfortunately, I can’t give you the accused’s details because we are still waiting for the court to decide if they will take in our case,” said Manaka.

She said when they found the puppy, it was severely anaemic, suffered from a high fever and had collapsed.

“He was infested with ticks and fleas on both ears and between his toes. He was very dirty, severely malnourished and underweight.”

The puppy is now available for adoption at the SPCA, she said.
