November will see one of the province’s most prestigious beauty pageants reach its conclusion with the crowning of Queen of the North 2015.
Organiser of the pageant and Miss Humanity International 2014, Katryn Barwise said it is officially one of the biggest pageants in Limpopo with more than 100 entries received since its inception in 2013.
“This year’s pageant is a bit different from the previous ones though,” Barwise explained.
Since the huge success of the Miss Polokwane Observer Cover Girl 2015 and the public choice award, I decided that Queen of the North should also have an extra award. We are also going to hold a teddy bear drive this year and the soft toys collected in that manner will be given to centres for disabled children, such as Pontsho Disability Centre.”
Queen of the North competition is a pageant for girls who want to give back to the community but who are also fashion icons as the winner will become an ambassador for Mall of the North.
Barwise said organising pageants is something she loves and she cannot imagine not being a pageant organiser. She is full of confidence that the event will be as successful as in previous years.
The pageant is planned for 28 November at Mall of the North. For more information or to get an entry form contact Barwise on 078 371 0909.
