POLOKWANE – Golf clubs and balls are the essentials to have in your golf kit, but there is usually something extra and unique that golfers prefer to carry with them when they take to the fairway.
Review asks golfers at a local golf club what the most important thing is for them to have in their golf bag.
Les Cook jokingly says that common sense is the most important thing for him to have in his kit so he can play his game to the fullest. He adds that his cigarettes are also an important essential to have with him.
“My glove and pitch marker are the most important items to me. They help me fix the pitch after a golf shot,” says Zach Chuenyane.
Mpho Makhado says his distance controller is the most important tool, so he can see how far his next shot will be.
“My pencil and pen are important to me to write down the scores, and also my GPS to measure the distance,” says Kobus Marnewick.
Nic Notley says he packs extra golf balls in his kit because he usually lose a few in the rough.
Farouk Suliman says that he keeps water and drinks in his kit to quench his thirst throughout the day on the fairway. He also says that he keeps a golfing manual in his kit to help him with guidelines to improve on his game.
