LIMPOPO – The road between Elim via Malamulele to Vuwani has been blockaded by burning tyres. Limpopo police have advised the motorists to avoid the area.
Residents are protesting in opposition of the newly proposed Malamulele municipality.
“Shops and schools are closed and no public transport is operational,” says provincial police spokesperson, Col Ronel Otto..
According to reports a police vehicle has also been set alight. Police are still investigating.
