LIMPOPO – Three suspected rhino poachers were arrested this morning (Friday) after a high speed car chase in the Stockpoort area near Lephalale.
The three suspects were arrested by the stock theft unit after receiving information about a possible incident on a Lephalale farm says provincial police spokesperson, Ronel Otto.
The Stock theft unit had been performing observation duties for several night in the area added Otto.
“The high speed car chase was brought to an end after several kilometers with the assistance of farmers in the area.”
“Police confiscated a 375 hunting rifle and ammunition, an axe, knife and saw.”
The suspects are due to appear in the Lephalale Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
