Five men found to be in possession of suspected stolen property were arrested during a routine police stop and search operation in Louis Trichardt

LIMPOPO – Five men found to be in possession of suspected stolen property were arrested on Thursday morning during a routine police stop and search operation in Louis Trichardt.

The stolen property valued at R30 000 has been identified by the complainant of a robbery at a clothing store earlier in the morning, said provincial police spokesperson, Col Ronel Otto.

“When asked who the property belonged to, one of the suspects tried to bribe the police official.

“The suspects attempted to escape after the officer refused the bribe,” said Otto.

The five suspects were arrested for being in possession of suspected stolen property, resisting arrests and immigration act.

They have also been linked to several cases of house breaking in the Louis Trichardt area.
