LIMPOPO – According to the police, the situation in Namakgale is still tense, with several roads in the townships and around shopping centres being blocked.

The protests started last week.

The R71 and R40 are open for traffic, but motorists are still advised to drive cautiously as violence continues to flare-up.

The public order police are patrolling the area to prevent further incidents and have removed the tyres blocking the roads.
