Be sure of your child’s safety with Taken.org

"Imagine being able to see where your children are 24/7 or imagine knowing that by the touch of a button your children have access to Taken, a 24/7 guardian service"

POLOKWANE – On Monday morning at 07:00 you drop your child off at school expecting her to be safe.

After school she has a play date at a friend’s house and you will pick her up at 17:30, after work. But she never arrived for the play date. Now she is missing and you do not know what to do. This is one scenario that could be resolved if only you had a way of tracking your child.

Here is another scenario: you and your colleagues are working hard on a Friday afternoon, when 30 minutes before lunchtime, three armed men enter the office threatening you. You can’t reach for the phone or a panic bottom, you can only clench your hands together and wait.

Taken.org national marketing manager, Robin Tapinos, says Taken.org is the solution to these and many more scenarios.

“Imagine being able to see where your children are 24/7 or imagine knowing that by the touch of a button your children have access to Taken, a 24/7 guardian service, which would give you, the parent, complete peace of mind regarding their safety and physical well-being,” Tapinos says.

“Taken.org tracking was established to ensure the health and safety of all South Africans,” he explains.

The owner of this organisation was in a major car accident five years ago where he waited for hours for an ambulance and was trapped in the car. He decided to get a way to help other South Africans in similar situations.

“The concept works like this: you get a fashionable watch (unit) of your choice to wear. When you get into a situation where you need help, you simply press the button on the unit. We at the control room will then phone you and if you do not answer, we will track you. Each watch has a built-in GPS, which helps us to find you. We will then call the local security company and they will go to help you,” Tapinos further explains.

If your child is the one pressing the button, you as well as the control room get a notification. You are able to track your child using the Taken application and the control room will call you to find out what is going on. If you tell the control room they should track your child, they will do that.

“We can also track a missing child. Every once in a while the unit will send out a GPS signal pinpointing the whereabouts of the child. For older people who suffer from dementia or Alzheimer’s, we have units that cannot be taken off and we plan on having units to put on newborn babies as well. These will establish necessary information like temperature as well. Some of the units will even tell you when to take your medication,” he continues.

According to Tapinos there will be a different series of units and no unit will be branded.

Each parent will also get a password that only the control room manager and the owner as well as the parent will know. Parents are not allowed to give any information about their children to any one and Taken.org personnel will never ask.

Taken.org plans to work with the public, police and community policing forums nationally..

Pre-sales will start this week for 12 to 21 days with a limited stock. The price of this unit is R65 per month excluding VAT and can only be ordered via info@taken.org.za.
