Patel’s 2nd murder trial postponed

Rameez Patel appeared before the Polokwane magistrate’s court today following his arrest on Friday for the murder of Tony Adams in 2013.

POLOKWANE – Rameez Patel appeared before the Polokwane magistrate’s court today following his arrest on Friday for the murder of Tony Adams in 2013.

Patel, who stands accused for the murder of his wife, Fatima Patel is out on bail and part of his bail conditions is that he report three times a week to the Westenburg police station. When Patel reported to the police station on Friday, he was arrested and charged in connection with Adams’ murder.

Provincial police spokesperson, Col Ronél Otto, said: “it is alleged that Adams was seen entering the yard of Rameez Patel unlawfully. Adams was then assaulted with a hockey stick and his body dumped in the parking area of a nearby supermarket”.

Patel’s case was postponed to August 11 and he remains in police custody.
