30 learners awarded with scholarships

IVANPLATS awarded 30 learners from five primary schools and nine high schools within the Ivanplats host communities with school scholarships.

MOKOPANE – IVANPLATS awarded 30 learners from five primary schools and nine high schools within the Ivanplats host communities with school scholarships. The hand-over ceremony was held last Saturday.

This contribution is part of Ivanplats’ commitment to assist parents and learners with costs associated with schooling. These scholarships include school uniform vouchers, stationery packs and they also lend a hand in assisting the learners with a means of transport to get to school safely. Many children across South Africa are forced to leave school and find work because their parents or guardians cannot afford the rising schooling costs.

Deserving learners who showed potential to excel at mathematics and physical science identified by their principals and teachers were included in the Ivanplats school scholarship programme.

The schools that participated are from Magongoa, Masodi, Madiba, Sekgakgapeng, Moshate and Tshamahansi (Baloyi and Hlongoane Section).

Two learners from each school boasts a scholarship from Ivanplats.
