POLOKWANE – The Sector 5 community policing forum (CPF) known as Northern Upper Town (NUT) celebrated the birthday of Nelson Mandela by reaching out to their partners at the Polokwane Municipality and treating them to an outing to the Polokwane Game Reserve on Friday.
The management of the CPF invited guests from the municipality who had been assisting them with municipal issues, which in turn helped to ensure a safer community.
NUT spokesperson and marketing manager for Savannah Mall, Karen Botha, said the braai was held to strengthen the relationship between the municipality and the CPF. “We as the CPF do not stand alone and it is important that relationships like the one we have with the municipality be looked after. This braai was just a small token of the appreciation that the CPF has towards the municipality, but the friendships and relationships built will never be forgotten,” Botha said.
She added that it was also a great way to celebrate the birthday of the former president; making friends and building a team made up of different people from different backgrounds to enjoy each others’ company and learn from one another.
