LIMPOPO – Limpopo police have arrested two male suspects following the alleged assault and hanging of the 23-year-old Dakala Bulannga in Lwamondo-Khumbe near Thohoyandou last week.

“The two suspects (aged 63) and (aged 38) have been charged with murder and kidnapping and will appear in court later this week,” says provincial police spokesperson, Col Ronel Otto.

According to previous information the body of Bulannga was found hanging from a tree.

The community apparently became violent when the men accused of the crime were released after police questioning.

“The police could not link the accused to the crime,” said the spokesperson in an earlier statement.

A few members in the community set fire to five houses on Saturday and blockaded the road between Tshakuma and Thohoyandou with buring tyres on Sunday.

A case of public violence was opened, but no arrests had been made.
