LIMPOPO – A 49-year-old foreman has been killed by a buffalo bull on a farm in Gravelotte on Sunday morning.

According to a statement from Kapiri Ranch 760 farm manager, Eddie Greyling, Elvis Rampya (49) inadvertedly opened the wrong gate while putting feed in the animal’s enclosure, which let the buffalo in.

“The buffalo bull commonly known as “Wide” charged Rampya,  “workers tried to save him, but it was to late”.

In the statement it said that Greyling had to shoot the buffalo in order to retrieve Rampya`s body.

“He knew the feeding procedure very well, he treated the farm as if it was his own and loved the animals.”

“Elvis will be sorely missed by his fellow workers and employers,” said Greyling.

Rampya is survived by his wife and four children.
