POLOKWANE – The Mongolian Dream Circus is in town leaving young and old enraptured with the entertainment with the youngsters’ little faces lighting up and laughter filling the tent.

The circus started on July 1 and will be in the city until August 1 at Savannah Mall. Attendees were part of two hours of fun, smiles, awe at performers’ fearlessness and amusing moments.

The circus owner and international circus star award winner, Batmunkh Khorloo, said he had been in the circus industry for more than 25 years and his aim was to make people happy. “We always have different performers each year, we want to give people a strong positive mind about a circus,” he said.

He mentioned that they have their shows all over South Africa as well as in other countries.

The circus offers worldclass service featuring juggling, acrobatics, dancing, acting, contortion, animal acts, strong man and lots more performed by international Mongolian artists.

One of the enthusiastic attendees, Amukelani Mbhungele said she thought circuses were for children but she now has a different perspective. “I loved it there, although I was scared of the element of magic but I adjusted and eased up during the show and my children enjoyed every moment. I will never miss it when it comes here again,” she said.

The circus was formed in 1987 in Mongolia and together this group of artists have travelled the world. After years of performing they decided to settle in South Africa. The team has been touring South Africa since 1998, giving each town they stop in the chance to experience the circus they have never seen live before.

Residents will be able to visit the circus on the following days and times: Tuesdays and Thursdays at 19:00, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 15:00 and 19:00 and Sundays at 14:00.

The tickets cost R100 per adult and R90 per child.
